i 1 t ' - v - 'Ayre's Ague irc. TOR THE SPEEDY CURE OP Intermittent Fever, or Fever and Ague Remittent Fever. Cliill Fever, Dumb Aauc. Periodical Headache or Billions Headache, and Billions Fevers, indeed for the -wlioleclass of diseases onqina ting in liliary derangement, caused by the Malaria oj miasmatic countries. Fever and Ague is not the only conse quence of the miasmetic poison. A great variety of disorders arise from its irritation in malarious districts, among which are JNeu ralffia, Rheumatism. GouL Headache, Blind ness, Toothache, Earache, Catarrh, Asthma Palpitation, Painful Affection of the Spine Hysterics, Pain in the Howeis, l,ohc, jrara lysis, and Derangement of the Stomach, al of which, when originating in this cause put on the intermittent type, or become periodi cal. This "Cure" expels the poison from the blood, and thus cures them all alike. It Js not only the most effectual remedy ever discovered for this class of complaints, but it is the cheapest and raoreovor is perfectly 6afc. No harm can arise from its use, and the patient when cured is left as healthy a if he had never had the disease. Can this be said of any other cure for Chills and Fe vcr! It is true of this, and its importance to those afflicted with the complaint cannot be over estimated. So sure ia it to cure the Fever and Ague, that it may be truthfully said to be a certain remcdv. One Dealer complains that it is not a good medicine to sell, because one bottle cures a whole neigh borhood. Prepared by J. C" Ay re &. co., Lowell Mass., and sold by Wm. Hollinshead, Drcher 'Brother, in Stroudsburg, and by dealers in medicine everywhere. August 4, 1864.-lyce2m. Call and examine. Stroudsburg, May 5th, 1864. U. S. 7-30 Loan. The Secretary cf the Treasury erives no tice that subscriptions will be received for coupon x reasuryiN otes, payable three years from Aug. 15th, 1864, with semi-annual in terest at the rate of seven and three-tenths per cent, per annum, principal and inter est both to be paid in lawful money. These notes will be convertible at the op tion of the holder at maturity, into six per cent, gold bearing bonds, payable not less than five nor more than twenty years from their date, as the Goverument may elect. They will be issued in denominations of 850, 100, $500,81,000, and 85,000, and al subscriptions must be for fifty dollars or some multiple of fifty dollars. The notes will be transmitted to the own ers free of transportation charges as soon af ter the receipt of the original Certificates o Deposit as they can be prepared. As the notes draw interest from August 15, persons making deposits subsequent to that date must pay the interest accrued from date of deposit Parties depositing twpnty-five thousand dollars and upwards or these notes at any one time will be allowed a commission of one quarter of one per cent., which will be paid by the Treasury Department upon the re ceipt of a bill for the amount, certified to by the officer with Whom the deposit was made. No deductions for commissions must be made from the'deposits. Special Advantages of tins Loan It 16 a National Savings Bank, offering a higher rate of interest than any other, and the best security. - Any savings bank which pays its depositors in U. S. Notes, considers that it is paying in the best circulating me dium of the country, and it cannot pay in anything better, for its own assets are either in government securities or in notes or bonds payable m government 'paper. It is equally convenient as a temporary or permanent investment. 1 he notes can al ways be sold for within a fraction of their face ani .'.ccumulated interest, and are the best security with banks as collaterals for discounts. Convertible into a Six per Cent. 5-20 Gold Bond. In addition to the very liberal interest on the notes for three years, this privilege of conversion is now worth about three per cent ner annum, for the current rate 5-20 Bonds is not less than nine fcr cent, premium, and before the war the premium on six per cent. U. S. stocks was over twenty percent. t will be seen that the actual profits on this oan.at the present market rates, is not less than ten per cent, per annum. Is Exemption from State or Mu nicipal Taxation, But aside from all the advantages we .have enumerated, a special Act of Congres ex cinpis all bonds end Treasury notes from local taxation. On the average, this exemp tion is worth about two per cent, per an- num, according to me rate oi taxation in va rious parts of the country. It-is believed that no securities offer so jreal inducements to lenders as those issued by the government. In all other forms of iidebtedness, the faith or ability of private parties or stock companies or separate com munities only, is pledged tor payment, while the whole property uf the country is held to secure the discharge of all the obligations of the Uuitcd Slates. While the government offers the most lib eral teims for its loans, it believes that the very strongest appeal will be to the loyalty nd patriotism of the people Duplicate certificates will be issued for all deposits. The party depositing must endorse upon the original certificate the denomina- ion of notes required, and whether they are to be issued in blank or payable to order. When so endorsed it must b.e left with the officer receiving the deposit, to be forwarded to the Treasury Department. Subscriptions will be received by the Treasurer of the United States, at Washing ton, the several Assistant Treasurers and designated Depositaries and by the First National Bank of Scranton Pa. Second National Bank of Scranton, Pa. and by all National Banks which a deposita ries of public money, and all RESPECTABLE BANKS and BANKERS throughout the country will give further in formation and Afford every Facility to Subscribers. Their ef- ccts have abundantly shown to the commu nity how much they excel the ordinary med tcines in use. They are safe and pleasant to lake, but powerful to cure. Their pene trating prooerties stimulate the vital activi ties of ike body, remove the obstructions of its organs, purify the blood, and expel' dis ease, l ney purge out tne lutu numors wnicn breed and grow distemper, stimulate sluggish or disordered organs into heir natural action, and impart a healthy tone with strength to the whole system. Not only do they cur the every-day complaints of everybody, but also formidable and dangerous diseases. While they produce powerful effects, they ure at the same time, in diminished doses, the safest and best physic that can be era- loyed for children. Being sugar-coated, they are pleasant to take; and being purely vegetable, are free from any risk of harm. Cures have been made which surpass belief, were they not substantiated by men of such exalted position and character, as to forbid the suspicion of untruth. Many eminent clergymen and physicians have lent their names to certify to t lie public the reliability of our remedies, while others have aent us the assurance of their eon viction that, our Preparations contribute immensely to the re ief of our afflicted, suffering fellow men. The agent below named is pleased to fur nish gratis our American Almanac, contain- ng directions for the use and certificates of their cures, of the following complaints : Coativencss, Bullous Complaints, Rheuma tism, Dropsy, Heartburn, lieauncne arising from foul stomach, Nausea, Indigestion, Mor bid inaction of the Bowels and Puin arising therefrom, Flatulency, loss of Appetite, all Diseases which requircan evacuant medicine. This is derived chiefly from the food we eat; but if the food is not properly digested, or if, from any cause what ever, the necessary quantity of iron is not taken into the circulation, or becomes re duced, the whole svslem suffers. The bad blood wil" irritate the heart, will clog up the lungs, will stupefy the brain, will obstruct the liver, and will send its disease-producing elements to ail parts of the system, and eve ry one will suffer in whatever nrgan may be predisposed to disease. 1 he great value of IROS AS A MEDICINE is well known and acknowledged by all med ical men.
