Sumner road Shannon's procla mation to Whitfield's army previous to ordering them to leave the territory. The army returned without Whitfield. There was a general meeting of the proralavery companies. They threatened to exterminate Shannon, Sumner and the troops. Shannon fled the territory and look refuge in the Free State Hotel, at Banns city, Intending to take the first eteamer to St. Louis. He was finally prevailed on to return to Leavenworth The pro-elavory force in the territory le between 400 and 600. The plan as understood by out siders Is to nominate George Low who will de oline in favor of the nominee, of the Philadelphia Convention to meet oe the 17th inst. Mr. Law made a speech to the Convention advocating the restoration of the Missouri compromise a Rail road to the Nettle Coast.
