On the morning of that day, no excursion train of five passenger care left the Federal street depot, with about 130 invited gush], from the two cities, composed of the Mayore,Ctuncils, Representatives of the Press, 'and others. Ali - Brighton, Salem, Canton,. and 51 minim, the train received accessions of per sons who had been invited to attend the excur sion, so that the cars were completely full be fore they arrived at Wooster. At various road crossing. and 'ginger, 'on the way, the inhabitants had assembled to willies the advent of the first passenger train, ' and they expressed their admiration and jay by • cheery and waving of hats and handkerchiefs. About four o'clock, the train drawn by the beautiful new Locomotive, "Wooster," which wee adorned with flags for the occasion, approached -the town of Wooster, and here a eight met our eyes perfectly astonishing. The whole region round about the depot was alive with men, wo men and children, &areal in their holiday at tire, and their 0001qm:sum wreathed with sullies, and giving every expression of delight: Several beautiful - hills near by were perfectly - covered, and they spread stone the track, ocu 'oV-tei,,f1.,4c.,•'',--'.-2,.; pyiug every available ulnae. IVA3mxirros, Mg. 7. The last accounts represent that the Derby Ministry is sustained in the elections, and bus obtained a majority of from twenty to forty in the Rouse of Commons. This to no is a matter cf some consequence. For the wise avoidance of cause and provocations of strife, our . chief reliance has been such a turn in English politics as would restore moderate men lite Russell, Aberdeen, Sir James G - raham and Lord Idorpeth to power—men who understand the vastness, in tricacy and delicacy of the relations between their nation and oars. The chief cause of of , fence in the late proceeding of sending i sumer en. Beet of war vessels to settle the dispute about the Batteries, was in the manner and ad e, of the thing. The way in which it was done indicated a state of mind, "Willing to wooed and not gfrold to rift." This necessitated a corresponding movement on our part. We sent up the Mississippi, with that bluff old sea dog and quarter deck diploma tist,,Commodore Perry, to argue with them on their own terms. Perhaps inn week or two we shell hear of a iniscentneons strimmage be tween the C.anmodore's flag slip and a &isms or two of the enemy's armed schooners and other natal small fry. This would be rare fun for the bay of Fundy. This is assumed as possible upon the !opposition that the elections have, se reported. remitted in favor of-the new ministry. For in that event, the first act of its leader would he to send instructions to Mr. Crampton to stop the parley over the chowder with Web stir, and to place negotiation In the back ground while the force measures were working their way out. But I doubt whether the tense have obtained any really.practicable working majority. The account which gives them one, probably reckon in the thirty or forty moderate conaervatives, called Peelitee, under Sir Tames Graham, and the new Sir Robert Peel, who have been return ed. These men are perhaps it little more likely to act against than with the, admitistratiom— They will, at least, on ■ll important questions, bold the balstete of power. But should the Der boyites obtain full sway, I do not disguise my appribensionthat they will pantile a course In reference to the fisheries, the Central American sod ISlosquite questions, and some other pend ing eitises of rlisagreement; calculated to bring Ms a WIT. ' I wrote yet:km:me weeks ago that the Demo pantie leaders, partioularly the Southerners, were laying their plans for the annexation of Cuba, to be carried into effect after the election of Geo. It is rammed, like the annexa tion of Texaain 1814, to explode among the Whip when just about to grasp the avails of victory- Mr. Rental, of Elaaa., is lying dangerously sick at hie lodgings in this city, of Erysipelpa in the head.
