Haddock & Co., intend to erect a new breaker at Plymouth to re place the one burned on July 13 of last year. Engineer Auman and a corps of assistants, have staked out a site for the proposed structure which is a few hundred yards below the shaft or op posite Illttenbender's drill works. Chailes II. Watklns, the builder, hai been awnidcd the contract of erecting tho foundation walls and the stone Is already coming In by the car load. i The plans and specltlcatlons for the breaker aie ilnished, but the contract for its construction has not yet been awarded. James n. Davis, the general super intendent, Clayton Young, the outside foreman, and Daniel R. Davis, the in sldo foreman, express the hopa that the work will be completed by June 1 and operations resumed. When that is don.? and tlie TOO men and boys formerly employed are ugaln at woik It will be a gteat blessing to Plymouth. New Blnghamton Station. At the viaduct conference In New York on Monday, Superintendent E. a. Russell of the Lackawanna tld City Engineer Monroe that his company now fully Intends to erect a new sta tion in this city this summer, says the Blnghamton Republican of yester day. Nothing has .vet been learned as to the kind of structure that will be erected, neither is It known certainly what aro the other Improvements recommended for this city by Presi dent Truesdale In his annual report. A party of Lackawanna officials, on a tour of investigation, stopped off In this city for lunch yesterday noon, and while hero spent a few minutes In look Ing over, tho ground, presumably for the puipose of determining somnhln? concerning tho plan to be followed in making the Improvements. Nothing was said to the local representatives of the company, concerning these im provements. They did not place much significance on the visit, because It was believed to be simply a stop over fea ture of a general mid-winter Inspection all along the line. The party Included President W. H. Truehdale, Superintendent of Trans portation J. m, Daly, Superintendent of the main line A. C. Salisbury, and Chief Engineer W. K. McFarlan. From things that have been said heretofore, It is believed that tho loeal improvements contemplate.! by vhe company include tho moving of thn freight house, so as to give more switch room. It Is believed that the construc tion of tho new station will not be be gun, until tho viaduct Is far enough along, so that It will bo possible to know Just how the station can be built to conform to that improvement to the best advantage. Joining D. & H. with Buffalo. The latest railroad scheme talked of in Northeastern Pennsylvania Is, a lino which would connect the Delaware and Hudson on the east with tho Buffalo and Susquehanna on tho west. Tho plan in process of development Is the Joint .construction by the Bradford Central and the Delaware and Hudson of a route to Towanda from the present Delaware and 'Hudson line. Then the Bradford Central would build to Canton and to Ansonla, in Potter county, at which latter place the Buf falo and Susquehanna would connect it with Buffalo, The Delaware and Hudson, It Is re ported, has agreed to divide the cost of the proposed extension of Its road from Blnghamton and that large prom ises of freight have been made to the Central, The road, w planned, would Reliable, Ml O0B- .... - that you c Bheu- - v niMB. be of great benefit to a large number of farmers who have no railroad ac commodation for the shipment of their ptoduce. It would also be a ready route for merchandise and travel to Tioy and Canton, which has now 'to go the loundabout way of Klmlra. Empire Manufacturing Company.
