A train finding a gieen fusee must bo brought to n speed that will prevent striking anything ahead, and upon find ing a red fusee, which means danger, (top and proece'd with great enro Good Judgment must be used In burn ing fusees. They nro expensive. Tho use of these fusees In no way relieves a train crew from doing proper nagging. They nro simply supplied as an extra factor of safety. A card, form No. T-10, lias been prepared, a supply of whldi 4 each conductor must carry and leport upon at tho end of each trip and have it accompany his trip report, showing the number of fusees burned during tho n tlro trip. Another important circular has been issued by Superintendent Daly, which Is as follows: TO AG13NTS AND CONDUCTORS. This company has adopted for use at stations, consecutlely numbered, jap anned tin seals, with metal disc, and 'i supply of tho i-ame, together with scallm? pressts have been forwarded to 3tatlon apents, under valuable package label, by tho superintendent of transportation. These seals will be charged to agents by rornnicnclng and closing numbers nnd each seal must bo accounted for as Is dona with tickets. A recent case of loss mndo It necessary to examine tho seal records of a peddler car as taken at several stations, and" It was found that tho regular station rec ord for recording each car and Its seal record was not being properly kept up. You must boar In mind that this record book Is furnished to be ptoperly posted In INK, n iccord of each car taken at or left at a. station, and tho seals on each door. Where seals ure bioken on peddlci cars, a record must be kept of tho seals under which It arrives and departs. It Is also the duty of conductors to keep a record of tho reals that nro broken as well as the seals that are put on cars In transit by agents. It Is wise for conductors, after chock ing their train, to pick out tho cars they will peddle from and put tho numbers nnd Initials on tho pagp following nnd le.ne space enough between each num ber to allow keeping a record of seals put on while In tianslt. When taking record of seals, show tho number minted on tho tin and not the number on lead rivet. Tho seals of all loaded cars delivered to or received from ccnnectlng lines at Junction points mut be examined nnd record taken of the same Immediately they nro placed on delivery or receiving tiaek; loaded cars, dclHered by con necting lines without seals, must be seal ed before they are moed from lccelving tracks. Loaded cars received from connecting lines 'or at stations btarlng blank seals, should be reported W. and L. (wlro nnd lead), T. and I,, (tin and lead), T. and 13. (tin and celet), as the caso may be. All cars loaded at your station, which admit of so doing, must bo healed an soon as loaded; this applies to nil open ings In tho car which admit of access. Conductors mo Instructed to tako no loaded cars which admit of seallng.from stations at which an agent Is located, unless same aro properly sealed Loaded cars which admit of sealing, taken from stations where no agent Is located, must be sealed by the agent at the lirst open station at which train stops. Conductors will see that this is done. No seals must be broken except by station nscnts or their authorized rep resentatives. Station agents must seal nil local freight cars In train nfti-r merchandise for their station has been unloaded. Seals will bo numbered consecutively, nnd must be bo used commencing at the lowest number. The Ontario and Western company on Monday morning commenced the wotk of enlarging their yaid at May field or rather constructing a new yard in Carbondale. Itltchle. a Western man, was recently made trainmaster of tho Lehigh and Susquehanna dlvslon of tho road, with headquarters nt Mauch Chunk. Tho water station at Penn Haven has been abandoned by the Lehigh Valley Railroad company, and here after engines will recelvo their supply from the water station at Hlnklo's, Railroad managers are Investigating tho advisability of using telephones in stead of teleghaph to transact busi ness from station to station. The Now York, New Haven and Hartford has adopted It. Tho double track on the Lehigh Val ley lallroad between Beaver Meadow and Hazlo Creek Junction has been abandoned and hereafter the elnglo track will be used, tho rules governing the running of trains on single tracks to govern. Thomas Mack of "Wllkes-Barre, who has been appointed superintendent of the Lehigh and Wllkes-Rarre Honey brook district mines, has (or some years been employed as superintendent nt tho company's South Wilkes-Darro operations. Taking effect on November 19, tho Philadelphia and Heading railroad nnd Lehigh Valley railroad will oper ate two new trains between Philadel phia and Buffalo, to be known as "Th-i Exposition Dxprcss." Theso trains will run as follows: Leave Philadelphia dally at 8:45 p. m. and arrive at Buf falo at 8 a. m. Leave Buffalo dally at 8 p. m. and arrive in Philadelphia nt 7:20 a, m. Charles P. Llpplncott, trainmaster of the Central Railroad of New Jersey, has resigned his position, nnd It took effect yesterday. Mr. Llpplncott had charge of that portion of tho division extending from Penobscot to Scranton nnd occupied the position for n num ber of years. He is ono of tho best known railroad men on tho entire sys tem. Mr. Llpplncott will be succeeded by Trainmaster Itltchlo of Mauch Chunk, who will have charge of tho entire Lehigh and Susquehanna divis ion, extending from Scranton to Kast on.
