Few men possess the temerity evinced by a young man named Peter Sullivan, about 21, year's of age, who attempted to burglarize the hotel of Patrick Don- ' nelly, on Beech street, yesterday morn j lng at 10 o'clock. At 8 o'clock In the morning Sullivan first went into Don nelly's hotel. His actions were sus picious and he did not remain long. About It) o'clock Mr. Donnelly left the hotel and went to the next house. In a few minutes he returned to the bar room of the hotel. When he entered he saw Sullivan behind the bar Indus triously rltling the cash drawer and he rushed quickly and grappled with him. In the encounter Mr. Donnelly threw Sullivan to the floor and held him there by the throat. Three dollars and a half In silver fell to the floor, and as that appeared to be all In Sullivan's posses sion Mr. Donnelly then kicked him out of doors. When the robber got to the street he commenced to throw stones j at the windows and Mr. Donnelly had to flro two shots to scure him away. He left behind a pair of overalls und ! a drilling jacket and a memorandum j book fell from his pocket. The book j had on the cover the compliments of I Miller Bros., wholesale merchants, of !
