The defence offered to prove the bad character of Dr. Smith, but this was objected to and the court sustained the objection. During the trial the court-room was crowded to its utmost capacity by interested spectators, among whom the "abolished Board of Buzzards" were prominent. The court adjourned without passing sentence.
