RAILROAD.—On Saturday, Mr. Courtney, Solicitor for the Ohio and Pennsylvania railroad, filed a motion for the appointment of viewere to assess the value of the property along tho proposed route of the extension of that road to. this city. That route, we'believe, is from Federal etreet along the oa bat to a point above Andel - eon etreet, where it diverges to the railroad bridge now building be low the Aq'tteduct. It will be seen from this that the Railroad Company intend to make a cla:motion with this side of the river, as soon eta Roskilde, notwithstanding the opposition in Allegheny to their project. Flac.—Thu Alarm of fire yesterday afternoon, about one o'clock, was' caused by the partial burning of the upper story of W. & .1. A. Hun ter'e Cabinet Warehouse, on Smithfield street. The room in whioh the fire broke out was occu pied as a work and drying shop ; by some acci dent, a quantity of lumber was set on fire, but was extinguished before much was done. A considerable quantity of furniture, &o , was destroyed by water. The armory of the Da .quesue Greys was situated in the third story of the building, and their guns and accoutrements -were' also injured by the water. The loss of -the Messrs.
