Jy 24:3m Board of Health ffotica INFORMATION has been made to the Board of Health that cases of cholera occurring outside of the dty have been brought within 11s limit* for relief. No doubt the friend* of the sick are prompted by motives of humanity, yet it is proper they should be informed that they satyect themselves to a severe penalty by eo doing. The Legislature passed laws regulating this matter, in cases where the disease is malignant or contagious, in order that the densely populated city may be protected from any unnecessary scourge, which, when it has gained a footing, scarcely reate eo long as there remain* a subject for Its re morseless attack. The Board of Health are determined to enforce the law. If patients seised with cholera, or any malignant or conta gious disease, outside the dty. most bore moved to aqy of the Hospitals, persons conveying them thither must have a permit from the Board of Health. The attention of all perrons interested is called to the following seotions of an act approved April S, 1662: B*a 6. That any master, commander, or other person haring oharge of any vessel or steamboat,* violating any of the rules or regulations prescribed by the said Board of Health, under the provisions of this act,shall, upon oonvio tion thereof, by Indictment os prosecution in any oourt having jurisdiction, pay a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars, to be recovered and p*id into the treasury of said Board of Health. Bio. 7. That whenever the Board of Health shall reoeive information that any malignant or contagion* disease (measles excepted) prevails within any port or place within the United States, they shall make diligent Inquiry concern ing tbesame; and if it shall appear that the disease prevails as aforesaid, all communication with such.infected port or place shall be subject to such oontrol and regulation* as the Board of pwalth may from time to time direct, and publish in one or more newspapers published is the dty of Pitts burgh ; and thereupon every person or persons, and oil goods, Wares merchandise, bedding and clothing from such infected port or place, and having entered and been brought into the city of Pittsburgh contrary to such regu lations, shall be subject to the same penalties as Is provided for In the preceding section.
