No doubt the friends of the sick, are prompted by motives of humanity, yet it Is proper they should be informed that they subject themscives to a ®«vej e penalty by so doing. Ibo Legislature passed laws regulating this matter, in cases where the disease is malignant or contagious, in order that the densely populated city may be protected from any unnecessary scourge, which, when it has gained a footing, scarcely rests eo long as there remains a subject for its re morseless attach. The Board of Health are determined to enforce the law. If patients seised with rbolera, or any malignant or conta giousdlsease, outside the city, must be removed to any oi the Uofpltais, persons conveying them thither must have a permit from tipi Board of Health. The attention of ail persons interested Is called to uu* following sections of an act approved April 8,1862: gyn. a. That any master, commander, or other person having charge of any vessel or steamboat, violating any ot the rules or regulations prescribed by the said Board of Health, the provisions of this act, shall, upon convic tion thereof, by Indictment or prosecution In any court having Jurisdiction, pay a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars, to be recovered and paid into the treasury of said j Board of Health.
