The deceased, if his statements can be relied on as correct, was a nephew of the illustrious Louis Kossuth, ex-Governor of Hungary, and is said to have resembled in a striking de gree the great Magyar. Election Notice, TRANSPORTATION 49-Hurd's Hair Restorer.— I This preparation seems to be efficacious tor the restoration of the hair npou bald heads.- We have seen the testimony of person* w*-"- known to us, who have used tbe compound jiuccesafuii thereby corroborating the opinion of its restorative ere ey. We know of nothing moredesirable p» th« way of pc sonol comelincM and comfort than algooi head of hair, and any process hy which this crowning ornament of the out* i . man can bo preserved, or recovered when lost, v ithbnt, in the latter case, a resort to Wigs, Toupes and Scratches, u. eorvßs to be hailed and embraced with gratitude by all of , either sex, who are unlucky enough to need its benefit. We took occasion the other day to notice this valuable compound in the above terms, and now republish what wu then said, to show xgnin our favorable opinion of it. Tbo foregoing is taken from the Petersburg (Virgini;.< Intelligencer, and refers to an article which has for a tim • been advertised in our columns. We must confess that hare been somewhat sceptical as to the remarkable effects attributed to thlp famous “Hair Restorer.” But our in credulity has been greatly shaken within a day or two 1 y seeing a cnaplo of certificates of well-known and ported’., credible citizens of tho neighboring town of Preston—on of them the Caplaia of a New London whaling ship—to tl.- efiect that, in each of these cares, a two or three month.- use of the “ Restorer” had actually brought out a new ao l vigorous growth of hair upon tbe head where it was befoi bald—the baldness being, in one ense, of more than twenty years standing. Ws do Dot suppose it is by any means cer tain that, because the application has been thus successful in one rime, or two, or a dozen, it is therefore certain t" prove equally successful in all. But with such head-slror.j evidence as the foregoing, very f<jw bald head?, we suspect, would willingly forego a fair trial of tho “ Restorer.” All such “old heads” are informed that the article can be had at Messrs. Lee 4 Osgood’s —Norwich Evening Courier. Sold wholesale and retail at Dr. KEYSER’S, 140 Wood street, sign of the Golden Mortar. mh29 Proclamation.*- Whereas, the extraordinary and unprecedented demand for that invaluable preparation, wuionrs PREMIUM KATUARION, has induced envious persons to palm oil other articles similar in name and ap but absolutely* worthless, which has a tendency to injure tho reputation of the genuiue article, purchasers should be particular to ask for Wrighft Premium Katha non, and they may rely on receiving an article unequalled for its virtues for restoring a decayed head of hair, for a cool, refreshing and delightful application during tho hot weather, removing all disagreeable sensations of dizziness aud headache, and for the toilet it has never had on equal for its pleasant and delightfdl fragrance. Its thousands of testimonials are a sufficient guarantee for its completely restoring a decayed head of hair; for re moving all daudrufT; fur preventing its falling off, whether from sickness or disease; aud for entirely dispensing with tbe nece-sity of using hair dyes, as It excite* tbe secretions, producing a supply of iu natural pigment or coloring mat ter, giving the hair a dark, glossy appearance, with a luxu riant growth. TO THE MISGUIDED. These are some of the sad and melancholy effects produ ced by early habits of youth, viz; weakness of the back andflmbs, pains in the head, dimness of sight, loss of mus cular power, palpitation of the heart, dyspepsia, nervous irritability, derangement of the digestive functions, goneral debility, symptoms of consumptions, etc. Mentally, the fearful effects on tbe mind are much to be dreaded. Loss of memory, confusion of ideas, depression of spirits, evil forebodings, aversion to society, self-distrust, love of solitude, timidity, etc., are someol the evils produ ced. All thus afflicted BEFORE CONTEMPLATING MARRIAGE should reflect that a sound mirnl and body are the most ne cessary requisites to promote connubial happiness; indeed, without these, the journey through life becomes a weary pilgrimage—the prospect hourly darkens tho view; the mind becomes shadowed with despair, and filled with the melancholy reflection that the happiness of another be comes blighted with your own.
