Anaorr PICKPOOKET.—Yesterday morning, as a gentleman of oar acquaintance was standing on the corner of St.. Clair and Penn streets, waiting for an omnibus, he was jostled very rudely by a well dressed young man who hams along in a great harry, and almost shoved him into the gutter. The suddenness of the onset dis concerted the equilibrium of our friend, and while he was endeavoring to regain it again, at the same time muttering all sorts of maledic tions, the stranger passed up Penn street, and was quickly out of sight. A few minutes after, desiring to know the time of day, the gentle man reaohed mechanically to his vest pocket to pull oot a fine gold lever which he carried there, but to his astonishment and dismay the watch bad disappeared. In pushing against him, the young man had very dexterously cut the guard, and carried off the watch. Information of the robbery was made at a magistrate's office, and the police are now on the sear h for the light fingered scamp. BITECILAILY.—The house of Mr. William Der-_ by, on Ohio street, Allegheny, was entered by burglars, on Tuesday night, and $75 in gold and silver taken; together with a quantity of jewel ry and clothing. The robbers obtained admie• don, by cutting a hole through s back kitchen door, near the fastening, and removing the bolt. They first proceeded to the sleeping room of Mr. Derby; after carefully searching the chamber they looked the door, and prooeded very leisurely to ransack the remainder of the house. Mr. Derby hearing the noise of their operations, got up, but finding he was unable to get out of the room, raised a window, and called for assistance.
