New Your., Jan. 27 " The stem ship Prometheus, from San Juan .to the 19th, and Havanna to the 26th, arrived at 11 A. M., with 35& passengers, $63,000 in freight, and $300,000 in the hands of passen gers, with papers from San Francisco to the 2nd instant. The. Prometheus arriTe.d. at San Juan on the 16th, awl found there the U. 8. steam frigate Saranac and sloop Albany, the British steam frigate Arrogant, sloop Calypso, and brig Ex -press. The Arrogant -had been dispatched by the British admiral on the West India station, with the assurance to Corn. Parker, that the British government entirely disavowed the acts of the British Consul, and that the Captain of the Express had. no authority whatsoever, for inter. fering iu connection with the Mosquito govern. mane in any way, with foreign commerce. The most friendly feeling existed between the officers of the ships of both countries ; salutes were exchanged on the 10th, on the interchange of visits by the commanders of the national ships. Com. Parker was highly complimented by Capt. Robinson of the Arrogant, by hoisting the - American ensign at the main, during the salute. .The 'compliment was returned. by the Albany, with the English ensign at the main. Assurances were given by Cam.
