MERI.INB of the WARD OP BEA.f..TH,. June 10th, the following resolation - was adopted: . . . . 4 Resolved, That the meet Commissioners of the City of Pittsburgh be respectfully requested to cause the gut terser the aireets and alleys to sc o otrougly washed and brushed every day; and. alsqfe% andrerneve all kitchen garbage and *Tait and that it be recent : .Inewled to private families to have their houses, cellars, and yards, cleaned and whitewashed. - By order of the Board. - .1e24 . CHARS NAYLOR, Secretary. Allegheiiy Bridge Case. _ I n yeat ia,7ll paper, we published a copy of a notice in the above. case, signed' by : Messrs. Alden and Woods, which although - as it will ap pear below was not intended to rOfleot upon the condaot of Judge McClure, yet was well calcu lated to do so. We are happy to have it in our power to correct any false impressions, which may have been inadvertently made, by the pub=. 'Heaton of the following honorable amends from the pens of those two gentlemen: .F-r tte Daily Morning ram In Justice to the Hon. Wm. B. McClure, as well as myself; I-would state that I signed the notice to Messrs. Loomis, Shaler and Stanton, in the Allegheny Bridge case, published in the morning papers of this day, without reading the same or knowing that it contained a charge n pre eg v le en ot tix4 ing to a is tr s i n al e o t f he otn thei i sm re, f es or , theagainst f f in time for return to the Supreme Court. The decision 'of the Supreme Court-was re-" oeived by telegraph yesterday. The years has been issued by the Court This day. - July 11, '6l. ; - BOBT. WOODS. The notice which appeared in yesterday's Post and Gritette, - signed by . Mr. Woods and my self, was drawn up - in haste by myself, and con tains expressions in the latter part which I deep ly regret, as calculated to convey a wrong im pression. I certainly never intended to cast anrrepaach fal or disrespectful expressions against . Judge McClure,. either personally or officially in the communication alluded to. The whole- matter originated, it seems, -in misapprehension, the Judge having had no notice, until yest erday,! that the Supreme Court had refused to rescind the order made on the 12th of June. The Judge merely waited the issuing the venire until the question raised by Messrs. Loomis, Studer. and Stanton, was dis posed of by the-Supreme Court. I did not in tend to charge Judge McClure with the design of favoring the corporation at the expense of the relator. We all know that there could be no motive to induce him to do so. It is true, I felt hurt at the delay, as I sup posed, or issuing the venire, as there was scarce ly time left for trial. The writ hasbeen issued to-day. Every thing is done that is necessary to favor a speedy trial; 1 and I have only to add my regret that there has been any misapprehension in the matter. July llth, '5l. T. 3. FOX ALDEN.
