We were pleased to find more stir in the business portiOns of .the city yesterday, than we have no ticed in the for some days -It was the best day of the week for commercial . men. Atom AlsTrxes.,—The• failures of Western New York 'Bsnk, and two or three swindling cow cents in this State, for a while produced 'a panic in the holders of bank notes here, which, hOviever bag subsided, "The brokers have raised the ratio on currency, and purchasing at from l} to 2 per cent The'banlei have excessive offerings, a large portion of which they are unable to discount; this has made money:rather light, and . the best baldness paper has been offered in this State at from 1 to 3 per cent a month. The recent news from the east is that money is getting easier. That it will be easier here within the course of a mouth, we' have the assurance of those who are beet informed on the subject.
