CIT BULLETIN Duacrwartss.--At an early hour this morning the residence of Edward Biter, Esq., No. 84 North Nineteenth street, was entered through a window from the side yard, and robbed of male and female wearing apparel to the amount of $l,OOO. On Saturday night last the residence of Mr. Jacoby, in Jefferson street, near Broad, was en tered through a rear window, and robbed of Narions articles. The thieves had peeked up a large amount of valuable silverware, but were alarmed, and made off with but a small portion of their plunder. The frequent occurrence of robberies in this section of our city is beginning to excite alarm among the residents, who complain bitterly of the negligence of the police officers. COUNTRYMAN BOBBILM—An old gentleman, 70 years of nge, it'resident of Harrisburg, CAM to the city yesterday, and while looking around last evening, fell in with a comely looking colored woman, who enticed him to a house In the vicinity of Seventh and St. Mary streets. There the Harrisburger was relieved of $B5 in money and his coat and hat. He afterwards recovered - his clothing, but his money is a total 10$8. Jennie French, Elizabeth Dickson and Hester Haines were arrested upon the chargesof having been concerned in the robbery. They were taken be fore Alderman Morrow and were committed to answer. BOLD TonFr.—Last evening,about nine o'c oc • , a young German girl was passing along in the neighborhood of Fourth and Callowhill streets, when her purse, which was hanging •upon her arm, was seized by a man named Robert Jones. He refused to give up the purse unless she ac companied him to a certain place, but she fol lowed hitn about, from street ti) street, until she saw ii-polictuntini-and-then-had_Jone,s arrested. The accused was taken before Alderman Toleifd, this morning, and was committed, in default of $BOO bail, to answer. SUPPOSED ATTEMPT AT SUICIDE.—A man named Fat. Smith, aged 50 years, was found by Officer Regnault, yesterday afternoon, lying upon the sidewalk at Seventeenth and Lombard streets, in a state of insensibility. Hewes taken to the Fifth District Police Station, and Dr. Hooper and other physicians were summoned. It was then as certained that the man was suffering from a dose of laudanum which it is supposed he had taken to destroy his life. The proper antidotes were given, and Smith was sent to the Almshouse, to which he had a ticket of admission. ANNIVEIISARY.—To-day is the anniversary ni t two important events in the history of the nation, and of Philadelphia. On the 9th of July, 1850, General Taylor, President of the 'United States, died, after a very brief and most myste rious illness. On the same day a great explosion and conflagration took place at Vine street wharf, which involved the loss of many lives, and the destruction of between three and four hundred buildings, with most of their contents. It was a day to be „remembered. DISTURHANC'E ON SOUTH STREET.--ThiS` morn ing, about 7 o'cloelF, some of the employes of the clothing stores on South street,above Second, got into a war of words and created quite a commo tion. The Second District Police wore obliged to interfere, in order to prevent a serious„disturb ance. Lazarus Jacobs, Reuben Cohen, Reuben Jacobs and Nathan Myers, who seemed to be the most prominent in the wrangle, were arrested. After a hearing before Ald. Tittermary, they were held for breach of the peace. - REv, 1.-R. HenrY Miller,.the proprietor of a lager beer sa loon and brewery at No. 136 Girard avenue, was arrested yesterdripand taken before Alderman Shoemaker, upoti the charge of having kept his _establishment open and sold liquor - on Sunday last. He was held in $5OO bail for trial. Fon GLOCICESTER.—The boats for Gloucester Point leave South street wharf every three-quar ters of an hour during the day. A letter from Rome in the Paris E r niUM' S gives an account of a Sanguinary quarrel which took place in the Piazza of Frascati on the fete day of La Madonna del divino Atnore. Anlnhabitant of the neighboring village of c4rotta-Ferrata, on entering the, square, was immediately recognized and addressed by a Frascatan named Bruni, who was on the spot with his two brothers, in these words, 'You gave me a stab with your knife last year, and new I will give you as good;" on which he rushed in a transport of Airy on the other, who naturally endeavored to defend himself. This scene took place in front of the min cipal cap of the town, where a brigidier, two Zouaves, and a sergeant-major of that arra, named de Quelen, were taking re freshment; a captain of the Palatine guard, named Filipani, was alsg present, , the two latter in plain clothes. These persons, in the interest of public order, interfered to separate the combatants, but were in their turn assailed by Bruni's.two brothers, when a savage en gagement took place, which ended in the death of two persons, namely, Bruni himself, shot by the sergeant in self-defence, and 'the man from Grotta-Ferrate, who had received • 'six stabs in the breast. One of the surviving Frascatans was arrested just as he was taking ,refuge in the cathedral, with the corpse of his brother in his arms.
