Crowds of people are gather ing around the newspaper offices await ing the result and discussing the proba bilities. [SECOND DESPATCH.] BALTIMORE, Nov. I.—Governor Swann has removed the Police Commissioners. He says he will call on the President for troops, if necessary. [THIRD DESPATCH.] BATLIMORE, Nov. L—The American has received the following special despatch : ANNAPOLIS, Nov. I.—The Governor has decided to remove the Police Commission ers. The decision is very bitter agaisst them. He said the Registry lists of 1866 should have been used, and that the judges of the election have no right to go behind the Registry law. The police and judges were of the most partisan character and were guilty of official misconduct. He would call upon the United States, if ne cessary. Sheriff Thompson, of Baltithore, arrived here this morning, it is supposed for the purpose of taking up the commissions of the new officers. Latrobe, counsel for the Governor, goes to Washington by the afternoon train. BALTIMORE, Nov. I.—Great excitement prevails here in consequence of the Gover• nor's decision. BALTIMORE, Md., Nov. I.—lt is not yet ascertained who are the new Commis- stoners. •It is rumored that the new force have aiready - organized;tuid will make their ap peartmce in the course of the day. The old Commissioners have their fall force out, and will resist the demand of the new force for the surrender of the station houses, the marshal's office, dke. - It is reported that Jolni F. Ford, of Ford's Theatre notoriety, and Captain Horn, of the Third Ward (one of Governor Swami's Re gisters), have been selected for Police Com missioners, and en-Marshal Van Nostrand, one of the witnesses for the prosecution, is the new Marshal. 'A body of 400 diamonnted calvary, who arrived here yesterdayto emoark for Texas, are now at Fort McHenry, and ramor says they will be retained here to act in case of an ,emergency. There is considerable feeling manifested, some approving and others bitterly de_ pouncing the action of the Governor. - Knots of people are gathSring at the cor ners of the streets and near the newspaper offices discussing affairs, but otherwise all is quiet. The new force have not as yet male their appearance, but it is supposed they will do co in the course of the day. The names above given as the new Com missioners and Marshal are given on ru mor, but are Probably correct. From Havana. NEW YORE, November Ist.—The steamer Eagle brings Havana dates of October 27th. Rumors were current the past week, which were pretty well authenticated, of the land ing of a cargo of negroes near Junara and Cardenas. The Governor General sent WU cem to investigate the matter. The Governor General met with enthu siastic receptions at various places visited by him. The United States steamer Rhode Island, with Admiral Palmer on board, was at Havana on the 25th. The Government agent commissioned to buy two Monitors of the United States gov ernment is a passenger by the Eagle. Death of Senator Wright. NEwanK. Nov. LL-The Hon. He was one of the earliest and most enter Prising mtuaufactur ars oif this city, to whom much of its re markable prosperity, is due. He has held many Public positions of honor and.trust, and was twice elected - United StataSenatar. HIS death is deeply deplored by the entire community. HIEI present term expires in 1869.
