Ro berts, and in consequence of this arrange ment, and for the better 'service of the un dertaking, the residence, of the directing hoard had been ahanged from New Orleans to New York, changing, the Same to'the Louisiana Steamship ana Railroad Compa ny of Tehuantepec; but as the consent of the Lmperor was necessary, J. P. O’Sullivan, Attorney for Mr. Roberts, had arrived at the capital in order to obtain it. The Belgian officers whose term of service was up, had left for Europe. On the 12th, about 900 soldiers of different French corps d’armee, arrived at Vera Cruz. The 81st - corps was also expected from the interior. This body would be the first to return to . Prance. New York, Oct,2l.—The Heralds Mata xnores correspondent, of the 19 th, states that correspondence in reference to the rights of American citizens has Men going on for some days past between the commanders on the respective shores of the Rio Grande,and has terminated in an amicable adjustment - of all questions. It is not known that any Commissioner of Ortega has arrived here from New York, though one is expected. Cortinas has announced, in an official communication to Colonel Sedgwick, that fhe should attack Canales in accordance with orders from the supreme Government, Both parties are making energetic prepara-: tions for the coming conflict. Business is almost entirely suspended there; the gunboat Chenoco is still in the hands of the United' States authorities. -Canales, Cortinas and Escobedo have asked for her. Colonel Sedgwick responded that lie would await -the decision of superior authority. Escobedo is still in Monterey.' 'They have been pursued by companies of rancheros and United States colored troops, and five of the thieves have been killed. They are composed of Americans enlisted on the Liberal Mexican' side, but who de serted after the quarrel in Matamoras. ?
