From Our Third Edition of Yesterday* BIOTING IK; BALTIMpp, THE REPUBLICANS ATTACKED. RETALIATION ON THE REBELS The Disturbance Quieted. From Baltimore’ Baltimore, Oct. 9.— Some excitement occurred to-day at the oomer of Baltimore and North streets, occasioned by an attack on the Democratic Headquarters, made, as is alleged, by members of the Republican party. The flag suspended in front of the building 'was cut down, and for-atime there were apprehensions of a serious - difficulty. The police interfered and compelled the re turn of the flag to its; position. Last night the Conservatives made an attack upon the Republicans in the eastern section of the city,* which resulted in a fierce fight, during which John Gately, of the attacking party, received three bullets. in his body. Ocher parties were slightly injured. <r Baltimore Politics.- Baltimore, Oct. 9.—Reports are in circu lation of an intention on the part of Gover nor Swann to remove the Police Commis sioners on -the ground of alleged official misconduct, in making. arrangements for the municipal election. iTbe report" occasions much discussion, the! Republicans maintaining that the Coin snissieners have not violated the law, and that the Governor cannot exercise such authority until the Commissioners shall have been first indicted, tried and con victed of unlawful conduct, as they are jfiaced in office by the Legislature and not appointed by the. Governor. The conservatives maintain 1 that he can remove them, the same as any other State officer. Theßomsn Cattaolic Connell. F»b health: ahd strength use cape trail & CO.’S PATENT GLASS CASTOR WHEEIfi. Th«e wheels are designed for Pianos, Bedsteads, &c.- We claim that they give to Pianos a greatly force of sound, without detracting from the harmony* and melody of the tosirumtnt, rendering every note more distinct to the e»r. This la so apparent that they are now being applied by many to ihise valuable mu sical instruments. Dr. valentine Mott, previous to his l death, pronounced the Glass Castor wheels an in valuable Invention tor bedfost invalids, who are guarded against the damp floors after undergoing the* nrocessot cleaning; or where dampness is produced. lU.tT> any other cause. Aside ftom this. Housekeepers are relieved from the dread of having their carpus cut or torn* as frequently happens from those now In use, often caused by a rust, which adheres ’with glue-like tenacity. No such annoyance can possibly proceed from the Glass Castor wheels, as we all know that class Is non-corrosive. There are no rough or unflu lahed edges to the Glass Wheel*, such as we-Olten find In thoseof lron, and the latter, though amifeihly fin* ished will soon rust, from the dampness ofrae atmos phere, If nothing else, producing roughness on thesur mce, or edge, whilette former will always maintain the smoothness of glass, just as they are finished. By sleeping upon glass wheels yon retain aIL toe elec tricity yen had in your body on retiring, and you get up In the morning feeling as fresh and active as a young man. Glass being a non-conductor, the elec tricity gained while in bed c*nn jt pass off. Ask your docior what be thinks of Ihe Glass Cascor Wheels. Ask him if all diseases, with the exception of chronia diseases are not caused horn the want of electricity.. We have a man in our place whom the doctors pro nounced put cuiiDg, with the inflammatory rheu matism The wheels cured him in less than foar* weeks. He is to-day a stout healthy man. These are fkcts which can be proven on application at our office.
