Fri= our Third Edition of Saturday. Itlra Fenian govement. TorioisTo, 2(3,42.25 Elt.—tast night the forces at Fort Colborne were, augmented by the arrival of the Toronto " Thaiversity Company. - Early this morning - the troops took the train to RidgewaY. They are - nn; der command of Colonel Baker, Colonel Dennis having gone on an expedition down the river. Three miles from Ridgway Station the - Fenian's were found encamped in bush. The column - at once attacked them, the "Queen's Own," firing the first shot. The fight now became general, the volun teers driving the Fenians. A number were killed on both sides. The volunteers be haved splendidly, rushing at and retreating the .Fenians with the utmost gallantry. It is thought the volunteers will at least lold their own until the arrival of the - British regulars and artillery. BUFFALO, Tune 2d, 12 M.—lt is under_ stood that the patrol tugs fired on and stopped several boats last night trying to reach the Canadian.shore. We learn that an intended proclamation from the Fenian leaders to the people of Canada, is now in the hands 'of gentlemen of this eity,,and was expected to have been Issued yesterday, if affairs had warranted. Accounts from Canada represent that the Fenians will find themselves very much dis appointed in the expected aid from their brethren and friends in Canada. WASHINGTON, June 2d.—The Fenian Headquarters for the sale of "Irish bonds," dn.this city, has closed for want of patron age. A hundred Fenians or more left Wash ington this week for the scene of war, and an additional number are prepared to follow. °fractal Order from General Grant. Burr Alto, June 2. -Lieutenant-General Grant passed west at noon to-day. He sent the following telegram to General. Meade: EttraveLo, June 2d.—To Major-General Meade, U. S. A., Philadelphia—Gen. Barry is here. Assign him to the general com mand from Buffalo to the mouth of the Ni agara river. The State authorities should call out the militia on the frontiers to pre vent hostile expeditions leaving the United States and to save private property front de struction by mobs.
