The call of States being completed, the next business 2n order was the consideration of a resolution offered by Mr. Julian (Ind.) on the 24th of January, which then wenrover under the rule, declaring as the delibe , Xatejudgment of this House, that the speedy trial of Jefferson Davis. either - by - a civil' or Military tribunal for the crime of trea son, or the other crimes of which he stands charged and his prompt execution if found guilty, are 'lmperatively demanded by the people of the United States in order that, treason may be adequately branded by the nation, traitors made infamous and the repetition of their grimes as far as possible be pre rvented, This resolution came up last Monday, when the 'Nouse refueed secund the previous question, and the resolution was therefore open to debate. Mr. Julien addressed the House in support of the re 1301LIE ion, after which the resolution was referred to the judiciary Committee. Mr. Stevens .(Pa) from :the Committee on Recon- Istruction, presented the report agreed upon by that Committee and telegraphed on Saturday. He moved that they be printed and made the special orders reenectively for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thurs. of next week. Atr.Niblack inquired whether this report superseded the report lately made from the Committee in refer ent* to Tennessee. Mr. Stevens replied that it did not, adding that the • motion to reconsider the vote recommitting that mat ter to the Committee on -Reconstruction, could be called up at any time.
