THEIR FIRST PARTNERS GRATES Provoke a Bitter and Lasting Quarrel on Decoration Taj. THE NEWS OF TUB COUNTY COURTS The divorce suit of Mrs. Mary E. Masson against Mathias Masson was tried yester day before Judge White and resulted in a verdict for the defendant. This refuses the divorce. The parties are Germans, the husband being a well-to-do maohinist. His story, as told on the. stand, presented some unusual features. The plaintiff and defendant were married in 1833. She was a widow and he was a widower. All was lovely until some quarrels started about beer. She objected to him drinking so much beer, and he found empty beer bottles in the cellar and thought he had a better right to drink beer in his own house than some one else. The last quarrel was on Decoration Day, 1891. He proposed that they go together to decorate the graves of his first wife and her first husband. She said she wouldn't dec orate his first wife's grave, and spoke in an uncomplimentary way of the deceased lady. He defended wife No. 1, and finally each did their own decorating. When they re turned the quarrel was renewed by her. She then put him out and has not let him in since. Masson also mourns 52,900 of his savings which he had given his wife. Mrs. Masson brought the suit tor a di vorce, and Claimed that he had treated her cruelly. He denied these charges, and the jury gave a verdict for the defendant. Sewickley was moderately happy yester day. The salt water.was cut off, and the dark but soft water of the Ohio river was turned into 'the borough's mains. It was therefore possible and even profitable for a man to wash his face, and if the water was not palatable as a beverage the cook could use it to clean her kettles and pans. The vigorous protest of Sewickleyans bore fruit to this extent. The water question, however, will con tinue to occupy the attention of the resi dents of this placid suburb. The Commis sioners who authorized the return to the well water say that they were induced to do so by the arguments of doctors and other citizens to the effect that the raising of the wickets at the Bollevue dam had let loose such a flood of filth that the Ohio river water was unfit to driui. The majority of Sewicklcvans preler to"accrpt the chances of bacteria in the river water in preference to the nauseating ingredients of the flnid pumped from the wells. They also look with iavor nt any plan which may be of fered by which a lull supply of filtered water may be assured. THE FIRS! OF TEE KIND. DomlnlcK Gallagher Killed Through Fall ing Off a Street Car. The Coroner held the inquest in the Dom inick Gallagher case yesterday. Gallagher died from injuries received from falling off a Central Traction Company's car. On Novem bsr23he was coming down to town on car 39. At Denny's alley he lold Conductor A. M Stnckler'to let him off at Grant street and Sixth avenue. The conductor did not stop the car, and when Gallagher tried to get off he broke his hip, death resulting last Wednesday. This is the first case of the kind that Cor oner McDowell has ever had. Conductor Strickler was severely censured by the jury for not obeying the rules of the company. The rule which he did not obey is the one which sets forth very clearly that a conduc tor is to stop to let passengers on and off; The jury recommended that the company would in the future see that its employes strictly obey this rule for. the protection of the lives and limbs of the traveling public. Now They Know All About It and Follow Her Example. . A lady well-known in our social circles lias for years been at once tho envy and ad miration of all the ladies hereabouts on account or the wonderful preservation of her health and beauty, and particularly because of hor cloar and dazzling com plexion. Sho lias been many times urged by her acquaintances and friends to disclose tho secret of hor marveloiisly youthful appear nnco. Last evening she grow confidential to a little knot of friends, among whom the writer was present, and hor secret is now a secret no longer. "Why it is really no secret at all," she said; "a perfect complexion depends upon jnst two thing, strong nerves and a good diges tion. Most women are excessively nervous, weal: and languid, and as a result thelrcom plcxions are sallow and their facos pinched, drawn and wrinkled. Femalo difficulties always aggravate tho trouble. Fow women havo perfect digestion. Now obviously. If women wish sound health and good com plexions they must get tholr nerves strong, their digestion good and have no female weakness. Disorders of the stomach and liver, with the consequent clogging of the system, is very trying to tho complexion. The best thing in tho world to overcomo these difficulties Is Dr. Greene's Nervura blood nnd nervo remedy for it is a wonder ful strongthener of weak nerves, and gives a vigorous appetite and perfect digestion. It should be used by every woman who is at all weak or run down. Besides, It is a Vegetable remedy, pure and harmless." MRS. MART FRAJfCES LTTLE. The abovo is borne out by anothor no less popular ladv, Mrs. Mary Frances Lytle, who icsldes at 2 Hunter Alley, Eochester, N. T. In speaking upon the snme subject she said: "I was very pale and dclicute and had no color whatever. I also had a very bad loucorrhcoa all the time and suffered great pains at my periods. "I am now all well thanks to Dr. Greene's Nervura blood and nervo remedy. My faoo is plump and cheeks red and my complexion pure. "When I began the uso of this most excel lent remedy I only weighed 81 pounds, now I weigh 115 pounds and am still gaining. Dr. Greene's Nervura blood and nerve remedy lsanonderful medicine. I havo not had any trouble since I began taking it." This great remedy is tho discovery of tho eminent and well-known physician, Dr. Greene, of 35 W. 14th "Street, New York. He gives consultation to all free of charge, and those who cannot visit him at his office are privileged to write him all about their cases and thus get his advice by mail free. It is certainly advisable for all to uso his remarkable remedy, which can be proenred at any drugstoie. A SQUARE MAN Merits universal It pays to be admiration, square in everything, and especially in dealing with your fel- low man. To sell a suit of clothes or an overcoat with a prize package attached to it is not a square business transaction and might to be shunned by square people. We are here with materials proper for this season. Our stock of suits and overcoats is correct and the best dressers pro nounce it Ai. It's only the shoddy kind that needs presents to push it on an unsuspecting public. Our $10 Cheviot Suit needs no toy to make it sell. Otir Black Melton Overcoat at $10 sells itself. It doesn't have to have a cheap, trashy umbrella thrown in. You do much better to buy your toys at a toy store for 50c than pay izvo dollars for them when buying an overcoat.
