For many yars he conducted a black- smith shop in Bellefonte west of the Big Spring on land now occupied by tie Claster warehouses, He left Bellefonte in the spring of 1903, and resided in Wilkinsburg ever since that time. Survivors include his wife, the former Margaret Carr, of Flem- ington, now residing in wilkinsburg; and these children: John W. Whip- po, Jr, of Richmond, Va,; Harrison M., Wilkinsburg; Roy 8., Ward C,, and Miss Helen R. Whippo, all of Pittsburgh: Mrs. H. B. Parmelee, of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. H. L. Hazlett of St. Louis, Mo. Other survivors in- clude two sisters, one of them a Mrs Mulberger, of Cleveland, Ohlo, and a brother, William Whippo, of An- derson, Ind. HARTSHORN Herbert Hartshorn, 58 life jong resident of Philipsburg passed away Saturday evening at 7 o'clock at the Philipsburg State hos- pital, where he (ad been a patient for four weeks. Death was attributed to complications arising from a mine accident. The deceased, a son of the late Joshua and Hanna Gill Harts- horn, was born at Centre, Clearfield county, on August 1, 1885.
