BRESLIN FOR == AUDITOR GENERAL The record of my opponent, (;. Har- old Wagner, now State Treasurer, and campaigning for the office of Auditor General, is as follows: Wagner has been a lifelong Repub- ican. He was registered Republican for three vears while employed in the Auditor General's Department under Democrat Warren Roberts. He changed his registration from Republican to Democrat only one month before he became a candidate. Forty-eight hours after he took office as State Treasurer he fired 120 Democrats and replaced practically all big jobs with Republi- cans. This is not mere propaganda, but a matter of record. Two years ago Wagner was against the State ticket, not only in the pri- mary election but also against the ticket in the general election and in- structed his employes not to contribute or vote! This is also a matter of record. \s a fitting climax, neither he nor his voted the 1942 Gubernatorial wile mn ] A ciection. the labor leaders In of the State with our State Chairman. conferences by every labor leader, without exception, positively turned thumbs down on G. Harold Wagner. Last, but not least, why did Wagner receive an increase of $110,000 in his appropriation, from the Republican- controlled Legislature, while the Au- ditor General received a cut of $265.- 000? ’ The answer is very obvious! Wagner has never been a Democrat! OHN F. BRESLIN LIFELONG DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE FOR AUDITOR GENERAL
