Shirk, former employe of the Bellefonte Borough, died at 4:45 o'clock Saturday afternoon July 17, 1843, at his home on South Spring street, Bellefonte, after a week's illness He was a son of Joseph and Eliza Simmons Shirk and was born near Bellefonte on November 28, 1860, making his age at time of death 82 vears, T months and 29 days. His wife, the former Minnie Rice; a daughter, Mrs. Ray Johnson, and two grandchildren survive. Mr. Shirk was employed for a number of vears at the Val- entine Furnace, remaining there un til the furnace was discontinued He then entered the employ of Bellefonte Borough as a truck driv- er. Mr. Shirk was a member of the Evangelical church, Bellefonte, and last attended services on July 10 Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon, with Rev H H. Jacobs of Bellefonte, officiat ing Interment was made in the Sunnyside cemetery, Bellefonte ROBERT G. RHOADES lifelong member of the Methodist church, CARL T. NOLL Carl T. Noll, of Pitcairn, died July 1, 1943, at the home of his sister [Mrs. James Lambert, of East Mec- | Keesport, after a four months’ ill- ness during which he underwent an joperation. Mr. Noll was born at Pleasant Gap, and was 54 years of age at the time of his death. As a young man he went to Pitcairmm and was employed by the Pennsylvania Rallroad Company. Later he worked for the borough of Pitcairn as an electrician, continuing in that post up to the time of his illness. He was married in 1908 to Orpha C. Pletch- er, daughter of A. A. Pletcher, How- ard, who survives with two sons Thomas of Pittsburgh, and Carl, Jr in the U. 8 Air Foice at March Field, Cal.
