January 25, 1940, — CENTRE COUNTY HOSPITAL IN THE WEEK'S NEWS Local Girl Burned Helen Spritzer, aged 22, daugh- ter af Joséph Spritzer, of North Al- legheny Street, Bellefonte, was ad- mitted to the hospital Saturday for trestment of burns suffered about noon, Friday, when a kettle of hol soup upset at the family home, The girl was palnfully burned about the thighs, chest and arms, but no permanent ill effects are ex- pected to result. ———— YP ———— * / / Twins ‘Day’ Apart Twins, a boy and a girl, born at the hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Lester H. Hartwig, of State College, will have different birthdates, even though only 22 minutes elapsed be- tween thelr births, The little girl, who weighed 7 pounds, was born at 11:50 o'clock Saturday night. Her brother, who weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces, arrived at 12:30 o'clock Sunday morning. The voungsters have been hamed Roland Eugene and Judith Eliza- beth. They and their mother are re- ported to be getting along nicely. Recovers E. Keith Anderson, chief clerk of the West Penn Power Company of- fices in Bellefonte, is reported to be recovering slowly from an attack of Ludwig's Angina, an infection which centered in his throat and necessi- tated the insertion of a tube to pre- vent suffocation. On Monday Anderson was permit. ted to have visitors for the first time since he was admitted to the hos- pital, and his speedy recovery is an- ticipated. ——— Downes Discharged The Rt. Rev. Father Willlam E. Downes, rector of 8t. John's Cath- olic church, Bellefonte, who had béen uhdergoing medical treatment at the hospital for about two weeks, was discherged from the institution, Saturday, and is now being cared for at the rectory on East Bishop street. He is reported to be showing steady improvement. Infant Discharged Judith, two-year-old daughter of Mrs. Louise O'Donnell, of Bellefonte, was discharged from Sunday, after having been under treatment there for nearly a month because of an infection of the ears. No permanent ill effects are expect- ed to result from her illness.
