He learned that the man was not a Centre countian and his peculiar actions led Mr. Brun- gart to be suspicious of him but he had no idea he was aiding Clarence E. Smith to make his way to free- dom from Rockview. . Ek nted The former county officer reports that his passenger asked where he could find work as a garage me- chanic. but that when he offered tu try to get him a job. the stranger lost all Interest. Finally Mr. Brun- gart dropped his guest at a road in- tersection and was glad to be rid of him.
