M. —Og Thursday morning last some fif- teen or iweniy men and boys were seal- ed on and about the side track in the rear of the Sterling mines stable, Near by them stood two cars, snd while seated laughing and talking these cars were struck violently by a train which was being backed in, and ploughed their way through the erowd maiming in a shocking manner four persons, Thos. Loyd, Geo, Peddicord, Frank Rodgers, and a Swede whose name we have not learned. The accident happened about 7 o'clock, and about 9 young Loyd died of his injuries. The others were at last accounts in & fair way to recover from their injuries, some of which are very bad. By this accident, which may be stiributed io carelessness in great part a family mourns the loss of a son, and three others are likely to feel the injur jes received during the remainder of their lives —Houtzdale Record, C—O Narrow Escape, Mostoomery, Ala, July 25,~— Governor Seay was the vigtim of a peculiar accident this afternoon. He and his private secretary, J. K. Jackson, were driving down the main thoroughfare of the city when one of the guy wires which supported the overhead cable of the electric street railway broke and fell to the ground, strikiog the governor's horse. The wire was heavily charged with elec tricity and the horse becoming en- gled was sh burned to has created the safety of the electric car system.
