Every soldier justly entitled to a pension should have one but to throw the door open to all indiscriminately is to put a premium on fraud and per- jury. Mr. W. P. Hastings will continue in editorial charge for the present. Mr. Hastings is an able and pleasant writer, and the Star is one of the best papers published at the capital.
