BROAD AND SANSOM STS. PHILADELPHIA 65 BROADWAY, NEW YORK 19 SOUTH ST., BALTIMORE 827 15TH ST., WASHINGTON New Torli, Sept. 10. l'p to tlio time of the suspension of trndlnp borniue of the terrific explosion In the Wnll street district today's stork mnrkr-t gave every Indication of developing Into a full fledged hull movement. The forward swInK of the preceding session"? gained striking momentum from the outset nnd the operations of the morning were of a distinct broadening character, ylth progressive upbldding of prices all through the list. The constructive movement apparent Iv derived Its greatet stimulus from the unexpectedly easy conditions In the money market, through the strain of the heavy tax payments jesterday and other extensive financial operations. While this did not indlcite an immediate and definite markup down of monev rates. It disclosed a much better position of the loaning institutions than had been supposed. The bull crowd apparently found the greatest encouragement in the reported easing of time money rntes. On the other hand, the unexpected, which occasionally happens in the money mar ket, swept the reactionary party clean off Its feet. Iteverslns yesterday's early move ment, oils and minor rails were the prominent features at the outset, add iuz substantial ealns to suterdny'ii ad vance. The movement steadily spread out to other parts of the list. The shipping, steel, equipment, tobacco and sugar shares were soon included in the active buying movement, which steadily gained in breadth and momentum with the rising prices. Mercantile Marine common, Vnlted Truit and Atlantic (ttilf and West Indies rose 2 to 4 points. Bethlehem. Crucible, Vana dium, Republic nnd Reploglc Steels ad vanced 1 to 4 points. Other striking gains included a 3-point rise in Strom berg Carburetor, American Sugar, 2 ; Unlaw in Locomotive. IV, l humatrn Tobacco, 3 : Tobnceo Products, 2Vi, and Amerlan Woolen, 2',4. In the meantime the. rails and oils inreased their gains materially. Head ing, taking the leadership of the rails, again went through 9.". In the oils I'nn-Amerinn entirely recovered its dlv dend of IVj I"r cent, nnd Mexican Petroleum recovered more thnn half of Its 3 per cent dividend also. The forward swing was sustained by the fixing of the renewal rate at 7 per ceat and the strengthening of the for eign remittances. As a matter of fact, the market vrun virtually at the top prices of the day when the disaster which shook the en tire Wall street district brought busi ness to a complete standstill. To nvoid contusion and errors the governors of the exchange directed there should be no recorded closing prices. It was also ruled that all deliveries of securities bu deferred uutil Monday, except by mu tual consent. I)lv S' in J l!th W01 .. Adams Hxpresa 3JJ4 0 ..
