Adoption of a novel plan for the housfnn of n great army of free-spending delegates to the international convention of Ro tary clubt typical of Rotarians. but of no other organisation so far as ap pears from Atlantic City's experience as a convention town may make it neces sary for n considerable part of Phil adelphia's contingent nf Rotary ad herents to commute tn nnd frorrt the gathering of tlu ho.t in Atlantic City next week. That odd denoument, if It comes to pass, will be due to the big-hearted practice of the Rotarian brotherhood In giving to the brethren coming from the greatest distance to the international get-together ftret-poy. without any Strings whatsoever, to the pick of hotel accommodations. As a consequcnen virtually all of the Boardwalk houses where tho Phila delphia and New York Rotarians are accustomed to msk tbeir headquarters when at the shore for business or pleasure have been booked almost to the limit with Rotary boys from Great Britain. Including a large and aggres sive delegation from Edinburgh, Canada, the Far West, the Southwest and the South. As a consequence the only accom modations in prospect for the Phila delphia Rotarians nt this writing are in tho smnller houses of the crosstown streets or on Pueific avenue, a square back from the Honrdualk, and the supply of priiutc baths for them is correspondingly sparse, i There is still a possibility that there will be more lat -minute cancellations in the reserved quarters, and there It a chance that these may be made avail able for the Philadelphia officers. Con vention managers today counted it typical of Rotary spirit that the boys nearer home Hre perfectly content to take whatever is available in the way of quarters in order that the long-distance delegates may see Atlantic City at its best and have the very best the big shore town can provide for them.
