A., according to Philadelphia women in terested in the bringing together of members of their sex in a business club. "The Y. W. C. A.," said Sirs. Lcola King, superintendent of the West Phila delphia Homeopathic Hospital, who is organiser for the women's chnmbcr of commerce in this district, "is the only lody that has opposed the organizing of the proposed chamber. Whether its executive board feels it would loso pow er and prestige if business women or ganized in a nonscctarian and nonpo Htical bod , I do not know. "For many years the Y. W. C. A. has been one of the biggest national organizations of women and I suppose in some manner the women's chamber of commerce might be its rival. But the men have found plenty of work and need for both a Y. M. O. A. and a men's chamber of commerce, fo I feel sure f there is not only room but a decided ' need nt this time for business women to join hanus in a oiub." At the convention of the newly or ganized National Federation of Profes sional and Business Women's Clubs and the Women's Association of Commerce in $$. Louis, Mo., this week, a dispute developed among the delegates over the part the national Y. W. 0. A. is taking in the affairs of the federation. It was claimed by delegates of the Women's Association of Commerce that the Y. W. 0. A. is trying to dominate the new organization. Prominent 1. W. C. A. women btoutly denied this charge.
