Mnnj stocks were lifted to new high lecords during the forenoon, nnd there was a pronounced increase in bullish activities in many of the specialties, with bank mrjing also a factor, especially in the tirst half of the flay, when the maikct generall was at its highest range. There was some important news developed among bankers, including calling of the remaining Mt-da subscription on the American Interna tional slock, which, before this nnnniineeinent was made, advanced to S0, but after the call was published had a quick drop to S4. General Asphalt preferred followed the trend tnken by the common shares yesterday and moved tip as much as 1 points, while the common declined slightly. West Jersey nnd Seashore de clined 1 nnd United States Steel reflected the demaiid bIiouu on the big board by rising nearly 2 points an1 again passing par. Lake Superior Corporation continued active nnd held firm nnd Philadelphia Electric, the second most nctivc home stock, wns steady. Fractional gains were recorded for Tonnpnh Mining, Philadelphia Company cumulative pre ferred, Baldwin and Lehigh Navigation. Keystone Telephone and Pennsyl vania Salt changed hnnds at their previous closing levels. Philadelphia Trac tion nnd Union Traction were slightly lower. Cramp trust certificates were iu renewed demand nnd advanced for a substantial gain on a small turnover. There was a comparatively large amount 'of business in Pennsylvania Railroad, which wavered duriug the day, selling at nnd a trifle under Us closing price of yesterday.
