Thero was heavy trading in tho oil stockH nil through tho day on the Broad Street Curb and several of thoso issues wero established nt now records. This movement started with the advance In tho price of petroleum yesterday. Standard OH stocks made tho greatest gains, Prnlrlo Oil advancing 55 points to 4S5. Midwest Refining sold at the new high of 184 and Merrltt was traded In at 40 to 41. Northwestern Oil, another stock in this group, was In active demand, advancing from 85 cents to $1 a share. It appeared on tho Curb a short tlmo ago at 46 cents a share.Elk Basin was another strong feature, advancing from ' 12 to 14.
