In Pennsylvania the movement took strong root and a vigilance committee was formed to report on all plays of uncertain oharacter, and pledge cards were Issued. The person to whom one of these cards was Issued pledged himself not to attend nny proscribed play. In Philadelphia the Tercentenary Society was formed under the direction of the Rev. John Wheeler, of St John's Cathollo Church, In March, 1BH, and with the aid of prominent Catholics and Cathollo societies In Philadelphia has developed Into the final stage, and Is now ready to produce such plays, as the society has plannod, Tho play tonight under the direction of and including James K.
