Its diameter is 26 feei and the hands go around 361 feet above the pavement. (! This is it more like the interior of a factory than a clock. BETWEEN THE INNER AND OUTER FACES The round object in the lower part of the picture is the great axle on which tho hands turn. The rows of globes are tho electric lights which keep the face illuminated so citizens can tell the time miles away. THIS DIAL CONTROLS THE CLOCK'S MOVEMENTS Standing alongside is James G. Gaskill, nurse and care taker of tho big clock. It is his business to keep his finger on its pulse and correct any abnormal movements or jumpy tendencies. pmuiriT mfijiin ii lwifw.M i n i iiuiikiw 11 J imwmiii n I iniu in wmwimwwmmpmwwimmmi .uMM&a rw""tw V- aff-tywTJ' . -5. tftsHS- .. .J'aw ;,AiXaSS?S ' GU 1 h n M11 a & '& aRptg ;j3 i,i jr'r;j&j g& BBBBwjBy jfjf j HB'SheBk' e BBBtfsJEffyi A''fc1 w7? i"rSgi. aBHI5!
