PRUSSlA.—Mstarzsro OP THE KiNG The King of Prussia has issued a Manifesto to his subjects, in which; after condemning the stand ard of the revolt which has been raised by the enemies of Germany, he says that he will shortly submit a constitution, sanctioned by the other gov ernments, which shall have unity for its basis, and will guaranty to Germany its liberty and a free representation of the people. In conclusion, the King says: "If nay people will stand by me as I will stand by them, faithfully and with confidence, with God's blessings, a glo rious blessing will not be wanting to us." TEE SLIME or BERLIN PROLONGED—CONSPIRACY FOR AN .OUTBREAIL Simultaneously with-this part of the proclama: Lion of the King to his people, public notices were published, announcing that the state of seige at Berlin was prolonged with increased vigor, suspend ing forthe time being the ordinary courts, ? and es tablishing martial law in all its f orce. Lancaster, June 12, 1849. 3m-19 To OUR PRxrtoNs.—The Clothiers must excuse us for recommending the CLOTHING HOUSE of JOSEPH GORMLEY so particularly to the notice of our readers. But upon reflection they must know that it is our duty to act for the public good. This gentleman, by extensive cash operations has suc ceeded in bringing the price of superfine clothing therethe reach of the whole community. Whilst there use every effort to make large profits, he has struck out a new and original course, which hil 4 has steadily followed, using every exertion to Sill superior goods at the lowest possible price— Saaking a few cents profit on each article, sufficient from the fact of the vast quantity sold. " Large sales and small profits" is his motto—which prin ciple is carried out to the fullest extent. The large stock and endless variety; the style, superior fit and excellent workmanship, are of such a charac ter as to justify us in recommending our friends who are in want of good and cheap clothing, to go to the " LANCASTER HALL OF FASHIONS," kept by JOSEPH GOItMLEY, in North Queen Street, 3d door south of Orange St., Lancaster, Pa. [Junel2 The folloWing letter is from a clergyman of the Baptist denomination. The author is well known throughout all the Eastern parts of New England for the fearless expression of matured opinions. This complimentary notice, from a gentleman of such standing in the North, cannot be but particu larly gratifying. DR. S. 0. RICIIARDSON : Dear Sir—lt may be a matter of little importance that I should express an opinion respecting your valuable Bitters, being almost a stranger to you. I have been acquainted with them for more than five years, and have used them as a family medi cine almost solely, to the exclusion of other medi cines. They have been serviceable to my children in various complaints incident to 'them. The last season I found them highly useful in an instance of measles, of the worst kinds Our three children were attacked with this violent disease about the same time, and two of them were very sick. We did not have _a physician, but I administered the Bitters freely, which had the speedy effect to bring out the measles, and although the fever was very high which attended them, they did well. From this successful experiment of their use in this and other cutaneous diseases with which our family have been afflicted, I am prepared cheerfully to recommend them as a safe family medicine. In the spring season of the year, in case of jaundice and headache, with which I have been sorely af flicted, I have found them a curative, and consider them valuable, especially in that season of the year. Very respectfully, Augusta, July, 1843. E. R. WARREN. For sale by J. GISH & BRO., Booksellers, and J. F. Mirror, Aug. 9,18.1 S A PERFECT CURE AND No MISTAKE.—We are about to write a voluntary statement of a CURE re cently effected by Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry, which the editor of this paper is willing to give under his own signature. We make it pro bono publico, as we have never seen the prop'ietor of this invaluable medicine, and know nothing at all about him. About four weeks since, one of the compositors in this office was suffering so badly from a. cough that he was unable to sleep nights, and too weak to stand at his case. He became very pale and thin, and gave symptoms of falling a vic tim to quick consumption. We recommended to him various remedies which had no effect. Finally we gave him one bottle of WISTAR'S BALSAM OF WILD CHERRY, which we obtained of the Messrs. Sands bf thiti city; it afforded him imme diate relief, and he is now a well man, gaining in flesh daily, with a ruddy complexion, and not the slightest symptom of a cough. These are facts, and further particulars may be learned at this office. We should add that the cough in the above case was accompanied by profuse spitting of blood. Price $1 per bottle; six bottles for $5. opposite the Franklin (late Scho'field's) Hotel, in North Queen Street, in the building formerly occu pied by F. J. Kranriph. The subscriber, thankful for past favors, respect fully solicits a continuance of the patronage so liberally bestowed on him when in this city before, and as he offers superior inducements to cash pur chasers, he feels satisfied of a renewal of friendly calls by his old customers with their friends, and their friends friends, and consequently on the whole community, one and all.
