The very old and well worn drama of " Uncle Tem's Cabin" was produced in the epera house en Saturday afternoon and evening by the Minnie Fester company. The prices were low and the company was net even up te the average cheap one. The bist person in the cempauy was Miss Fester herself, who took the character of I'epsy in.very creditable style, introducing her songs and dances and playing en the banjo. The ether characters were taken by parties who acted like amateurs. The siugiug of the colored people was very geed aud they were eucered a number of times. The introduction of the large dogs was very tame, as in fact was the whole production of the piece. The man who played the character of Lagree was intoxicated. In the last act of the play it is part et his duty te whip Uncle Tem. The man seemed very ausieus te perform, this work and l.e gave the fellow, who took the character of the old slave a terrible beating. After the play the quarrel was reuewed and the drunken man was paid off and discharged by the management. There was considerable trouble between the members of the party during yesterday ; it is said that two of the jubilee singers were also discharged. Unclaimed Letters. The Franklin Institute is arranging for an international electrical exhibition te be held in Philadelphia about a year from new. The exact time has net been fixed, though many managers of the institute are in favor of holding it in May or June 1884. The Vienna electrical exhibition will occur in August, September and October of the present year ; as it will draw exhibits from all parts of the world it is thought advisable te allow several months te in tervene between the two events. By this means the greater part of the articles ex hibited at Vienna will be brought te this country. This is considered a geed point, as many of the articles exhibited are manufactured expressly for that purpose, and the expense is se great that valuable articles would net be displayed at every fair if it was necessary te make new ones each time. Within recent years the improvements in the application of electricity have been se numerous, and the force is applied te such a diversity of objects, than an ex traordinary display is anticipated. It is the intention of the managers of the in stitute te include all kinds of machinery used in the generation of electricity, as well as all devices te which the current is adapted. In order te promote the objects of the exhibition and encourage foreign inventors and manufacturers te send dis plays the aid of Congress has been sought te suspend the tariff laws se far as they would cemnel the navment of duties en machinery and-articles intended for the exhibition.
