We wish Mr. Skiles success in his new abode, and think he can take " the rag off the bush " in the moving business, apparently as well as in fox hunting. Henry Skiles, of Spring villc, took possession of the Mount Vernen hotel the same day. Henry Fex, of this place, has enlarged his clothing and notion store somewhat, and 4s carrrying a very fine stock. KcduclDS tbe Railroad Grade. After failing te tunnel through the in terminable quicksands of the Gap " cut," and considerable amount of surveying and calculating, the Pennsylvania railroad company, have at last, concluded te sink the bed of their read' somewhat in order te reduce the steep grade here, in the "cut." The contractor, J. Grant, of West Chester, has arrivecWicrc with a few men, and is making preparations for about fifty work men who will be here in a few days te commence this great undertaking. They intend te commence work at the station, whern the bed of the read will be sunk nine feet, and further up, between tbe two bridges, the bed will probably be sunk be tween 20 aud 25 feet, that is, if the men can overcome the great quicksands in the " cut' which are went te flew as the lava of Vesuvius. We understand Keller has the contract of grading the read from Eaby'e curve te the beginning of Grant's contract. In a few days jthe work will commence Dentil of an Old Citizen. On the 30th ult.
