A iihysiciau :u charge of the quarantine hospital in New Yerk, asserts that vacci nation is net only a preventive but a euro for smallpox. He says : "Speaking of vaccination I cannot con cur with Dr. Sayre, who recommends vac cination every live years (why net seven?); but from personal experience anil careful investigation I am assured that twice in a lifetime in iufancy and adolescence is sufficient if effectually done. Hut I go further than Docter Sayre in asserting that effectual vaccination is net only a preven tive but a cure for 6-nallpex. It was iny habit te vaccinate my smallpox patients in the fust stage of the disease, when the premonitory symptoms and even the first apjieaiauce in the threat indicated the coining evil, and it was gratifying te see vaccination and smallpox developing simultaneously, and the latter se modi medi lied by the leuncr that a bad case of smallpox was changed into a light form of varioleid. A word mere en pitting, the dread of all mankind. I say nothing new when I repeat that the exclusion of light and air will prevent it, as it is the daily obsetvatien that the convalescent of the disease may be ever se much pitted in the face, while the body letains no mark of the disease. ( hi this observation I based my application of the flexible colledion, ren dered opaque by the addition of iron and tannin, and with the happiest results. 1 'rally the dread of smallpox is only in its contagion. As a disease it is net mere d.ingeiMits than me.isles et scarlatina, and out experience -en Stalen Island of one cai" in ."i 0,000 inhabitants is about the normal average. Surely no cause for fear when the remedy is in our hands.1' Krndtertl, I "a. Themas KStchan, ISradferd, l'a., writes : " I nrle-e money ler Spring Itlosseui, as 1 .said 1 would it It cured inc. Maymaker, Agent for Reigart's OhS Wine Stere, by a prominent practising physi cian et this county, who lias extensively u&ea the Brandy referred te in his regular practice. It is commended te the attention of these at. ttictcd with -Indigestion and Dyspepsia. BRANDY AS A MEDICINE. This new much abused Alcoholic Mimu!:uit was never intended as a beverage, but te he used as a medicine of great potency in the em e of some of the destructive diseases which sweep away their annual thousands et victims'. With a purely philanthropic motive we pre sent te the favorable notice et invalids esm. chilly these afflicted with that uiiM-rahlc dis ease Dyspepsia, a specific remedy, which is nothing mere or less than Brandy. The aged, with feeble appetite ami mere or less debility, will tinu this simple medicine, when used properly, A Sovereign Remedy or nil their Ills and aches. Be It, however strictly understood that we prescrihe and use but one article, and that is REIGART'S OLD BRANDY, Sold by our enterprising young friend, II 14 SLAYMAKER. This Brandy lias steed the test for years, and has never failed, as lax as enr experience extends, and we therefert give it the preference ever all etner Brandies no matt erwith hew many jaw-breaking French titles they are branded. One-fourth et the money that is yearly thrown away en various impotent dyspepsia spccilics would sulllce tc buy all the Brandy te cure any such case ei ases. In proof of the curative powers et Reigart's Old Brandy, In cases et Dyspepsia, we can summon nuiu bers of witnesses one case in particular we cite: A hard-working farmer hail been nlMctce with an exhaustive Dyspepsia ler a number el years; his stomach would reject almost every kind of feed; he hail sour eructatiens con stantly ue appetite in fact, he was obliged te restrict his diet te crackers and stale bread, and as a beverage he used McGranns Reet Beer. He is a Methodist, and then, ad new S reached at times, and in his discourses elten eclaimed earnestly against all kinds of strong drink.
