llpkiißiwl. the point oe rvccfrs in applying HANCICE. The point to consider in the application of raw manure la its speedy fermentation. This is effected readily by surface appli cation, in which case it undergoes decom position in a abort time. The sun has a direct iniluenco upon it, which causes this. Hence it is that surface application is so highly beneficial, for without de composition there is little benefit in ma nure; it is a hindrance rather. But, the heat decomposing, and the rains washing It in the work Is done. The next beat thlqg, U not equally as good, and oven better perhaps, is to* ap ply on the surface of ploughed ground and barrow in. This mixes it with the top soil and exposes it to the direct rays of the sun, the soil, increasing, if any thing, the heat, and this, in connection with the Increased moisture, increasing and accelerating the fermentation. This practice never fails. It is always found to be good—and good whether It he rotted or not. providing it enn he properly mix ed with the soil. The secret in both those cases is, the sun has Its effect. Ploughed in deep, there is a different result not always success ful, especially in cold soils, or in wot seas ons. Heat, and proper hyirrometric con dition are necessary. This, then, is the seeiv., that we must v expose our manures m heat, and the nearer the surface, the more heat and (ho more fermentation. IVti have had our best success with maimi- 1 harrowed in.— On meadows, top-divs-lug is tho only way; and the time of’ apo'icarioe, it D agreed, Is the fall or hutcr part of the summer, when the heat lu< -Rill i's eff*',*t and the rains help it. HENRY SAXTON, No. 15 East Main 8(., CbWWe, Pa. fan. 16,1808,—1y Hmetocr Vegetable Sicilian HaUenewer Has stood the test of seven pears before the public; and no prepar ation for the hair has yet been dis covered that will produce the same beneficial results. It is an entirely new scientific discovery, combin ing many of the most power!id ami ■restorative agents in the VEGET ABLE KINGDOM. It restores GREY HAIR TO ITS ORIGINAL YOUTH FUL COLOR. It makes the scalp white and clean; cures dandruff and humors, and falling out ol the hair; and will make it grow upon bald heads, except in very aged persons, as it furnishes the nutritive principle by which the hair is nourished and suppnrtcd. It makes the hair moist, soft, and glossy, and is unsurpassed as a lIA lit DRESS IN G. It is the cheapest preparation ever offered to the public, as one bottle will ac comvlish move cmcl last lonficv than three bottles of any other preaaration. It is recommended and used by the First Medical Authority. The Wonderful results produced by our Sicilian Hair Rcnciver have induced many to manufacture preparations for the Hair, under various names; and, in order to induce the trade and the public to purchase their compounds, they have resorted 'to falsehood, by claiming they were former part ners, or had some connection with our Mr. Hall, and their prepara tion was similar to ours. Do not be deceived by them. Purchase the original! it has never yet been enualled. Our Treatise on the Hair, with certificates, sent free by mail. Sec that each bottle has our private Revenue Stamp over the top of the bottle. All others are imitations. R. P. Hall & Co,, Prop's, Nashua, N.H.
