Later admittance of the corpse was refused at the home of a brother, in Madisonburg. This was Tuesday af ternoon. Not finding any of his close relatives willing to give place to the body, the undertaker returned to How- ard with it. It was planned by the authorities that after proper religious services had been held over the body, burial should take place in the Heck man cemetery, near Spring Mills. As the Reporter goes to press, it is not known what disposition the undertak- er will make of the remains. The victim was a son of Eli Musser, who many years ago kept the toll gate between Penn Hall and Milheign. The family was highly regarded, the sever- al sons being industrious and capable of accumulating wealth. When a young man Musser went west with five others of his age, located in Kansas, and by sticking close to his stakes managed to acquire property which when netted him not less than $20.000 this money in hand he went to where he was induced to farm lands, which he later found cov- ered by a mortgage. This ost him dearly, but on returning to upper Brush Valley some years ago, he had a cash balance of 315.000. This was invested in a farm purchased from a Mr man, located next to that of Musser, brother, and in property oniginally belonging to same farm. It was on this latter tract that he lived, all alone, until taken custody early last fall, and later sen- tenced to jal for two years. The two Mussers spent a great deal of time, during the past several years, in each other's company. It is a guess which of the two men was the leader in the various escapades indulged in which brought the elder in the lime: ght last fall. During the elder Musser's imprison- ment, all his personal property was entrusted to the nephew.
