Wednesday proved an excellent day for the first day of the rabbit season and as a result many cotton tails were bagged by local hunters. At a depth of 129 feet a heavy stream of water was reached at the northwest corner of the boro reservoir, last week. W. W. Longwell’s office for treatment. ——————— A —————— Milihelm Business Men Want Light, At the next meeting of the Millheim borough council, 8 committee of bLusi- ress men will appear before them to urge the passage of an ordinance giv- ing the Btate-Centre Electric company a franchise within the borough limite, The propoeition bas been before the Millheim body for a long time, but for various reasons wae not scted ob, Millbheim has a business men’s associa tion, and it was st a meeting of this association that the lighting business was taken up and a commiltee ap- pointed to urge the council to action, From what can be gathered the franchise being discussed by the Mill- heim suthorities is similar in detail to the franchise now in operation in Centre Hall. Should tbe Millheim franchise be given the Btate-Centre company, all of lower Penns Valley would profit to a greater or less extent, It would bring electric current within easy reach to every villsge and through a rich farm- ing section. It was pointed out a year or more ago in theese columns, that Millheim held the key to the develop- ing electrically lower Penns Valley, and it wes then urged that the Mill heim borough council ought lo act in a manner showing a broed spirit fcr general improvement not only for its people within the borough limite, but for the whole section of which it is the business centre.
