They will remaio with friends in this place until Monday. ———————— A] SM] HAITI IN An Exeltrd Fireman, Bome time ago in a suburban town there was a soccession of fires, It was before a paid fire department was organ ized, and the work of subduing the vari ons outhreaks fell to a volunteer farce of fire fighters, who took great pride in their work, One night there was a midnight alarm nnd a great erowd gathered. Upon the arrival of the volunteer force it was discovered that only one lantern was available. The smoke was dense, but very little finme appeared, and the night was very dark.
