THE CENTRE REPORTER. Eg i agit AI I NINN FROM KANSAS, CextrRE HALL, PA, April 16, 34. I Ma. Kusrz--From eastern reports we learn that the month of March hos been rather rough in some localities, bringiog on a good deal of ice and snow, rain an mud. Here March behaved admirably ; in the early part of the month the frost came out of the ground gradually by a south wind and left tbe roads dry and smooth, Farmers got their oats and po~ tatoes out withont any hindrance : a fow gentle rains started the wheat, finally soveral days very high wind but from the soath and consequently mdt cold, The lust (31st) we had a heavy thunder show- er which lasted about two hours, mak- ing it too wet to work the ground, but a high wind brought it in a condition that the plows are going again, Wheat is in a very fine condition ; never before have I seen such beautiful wheat fields on the first of April. Oats is coming up finely. Plam and peach blows are peeping out ; a few more days plowing and the corn planter will be started. Emigration in'o here is immense, Peonsylvania sending i ita full share. Land is being bought 1p 1 very rapidly and raised in value full 4U per cent. ia the last six months, Allare a8 163 well, 8B. M. BraNGLER. : Newlon, Kansag, April 3, "84, : fe tp Mr. Jolin F. Office of D. Ganrxax & Sox, BUSH'S ARCADE. Bellefonte, April, 1884, TO OUR PATRONS : This week we enter upon our second year, and we have to thank the people for thelr very liber- al patronage. Our success proves that “honest goods at honest prices” are bound to take, and it has built up retail trade in the gounty. It is a platforin that admits of no decep- tion, in advertising no petty tricks to draw peo ple to our store; nothing that is in any way fraud- ulent. We use the papers as do other honest ad- $ to keep our goods, our prices and our systern before the public, and referring toall three to tell the truth, While we are no less careful to avold the mention of prices where they will be Hkely to create o false impres- sion, we shall still tell you that anything you buy of us that is not exactly as we say, yon may re turn it and have your money refunded.
