Commonwealth vs Pursel, larceny. The defendant, a mere youth was charged by the prosecutor, Emma Edgar, with having entered her hus husband's poultry house and robbed it of four game roosters. The defend ant denied that he was in the barn, said that Edgar's chickens had been trnrk and he decided to put a stop to it. He caught the chick ens one by one and informed Edgar to that effect, telling him that he could have them back if he would settle the damaees. Several witnesses testified to the boy's good character. The next case taken up was Com monwealth against Mary Reice : on the charge of adultry, preferred by her husband.
