Gid- ding & Co. A Boston Fire. On the afternoon of the 15th inst, Boston was swept by a fire extending over about twelve acres of ground. It was started on the base-bah grounds by some little boys who playfully kindled a little fire in some shavings. Though 3,500 people were on the grounds at the time, yet somehow the fire was not put out punctually m the beginning. The little blaze started for amusement by the little boys and regarded indifferently by the sportful spectators more interested in base ball, became a matter of serious con cern when it was too late to subdue or control it. The loss is variously esti mated at from $300,000 to $i,ooo, oco.
