Police Affairs. Last evening Dr. Paul M. brennan and two other men, named Francis aid Owens, were before Alderman Beitler, "i nrped with i)j?htlng in a bar-room in the nt ahborhood of Eighth and Cheanut streets. It appears that Francis and Owens met Dr. Bren iii' .1 at tbe Continental Hotel, and after some (o'.' vernation the tiio walked down to Eighth snd Chesnut streets to take a drink. While in the bar-room a difficulty occurred between Brennan and Francis, and both parties were pretty well disfigured about the face, the Doc tor's cane taking a conspicuous part in the Kelee. Francis, it Is alleged, interfered In the fair and came in for his share of punishment. The police mttde their appearance when the Ight was at its height, and the entire party lere conveyed to the Central Station, where, sfter a hearlnir, Francis aud Owens were held In $1000 bail to anHwer, and Brennan was held in $500 bail to keep the pence.
