The change was made on the 2lst lust., and the light should uow be seen lucleur weather a distance ol twenty miles. There is no alteration whatever In the character of the light, with the ex ception of Us Increased power, enabling It to be seen a greater distance. The temporary fixed red and green light on Point Lonsdale, south coast ot Australia, was to be discon tinued after Ihe l&ih of February, ldti7, and a light ot the same character, but of greater power and more extended range, was to be exhibited from the light house near Point Lonsdule telegraph station. From seaward the light will appear green between the bearings ot about N. by W. and N W. W., and red between N W. j W. and W.by B. In clear weather the light Bhould be seen from a distance of ten miles. Bv referring lo the chart II will be seen that the N W. H W. line pannes near the Lonsdale and Llghtulng Rocks, and navigators are cautioned to be on their fuard before the colors begin to change, as the blend ng of the red and green lights will indicate close vicinity to the line which passes from the lighthouse over these dangers.
