T T THereas sundry infringements have lately been W made on the laws of this slate for the pre venting pestilential or infe&ious diseases, either from ignorance or inattention thereto, it is tho't expedient at this time to publilh the following ex tracts from the laws of lid April, 1794, 7th and Bth sections. HEALTH-OFFICE. June 6th, 1794. Extract of an acl for /rearing the city and pQjri qf Philadelphia from the introduction of pesti lential and contagious diseases. Sect. 7. And be ic further enaAed, that every matter or captain of any {hip cr veflci coming from sea (vcU'els a&ually employed n the coasting trade excepted) and bound to any port or place within the jurifdi&ion of caufe hisfhip or veflci to be brought to anchor, or Ctheirwife flay e l in the dream of the river Delaware, oppofits to the Health-Office on StaU-Ifland nforefaid, and there to remain until he shall have duly obtained a certificate or bill of heal h from the RcUdent Phy sician.
